Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
